About Captain Dale

An avid outdoors-man, Captain Dale Hahn grew up fishing the waters of Calhoun County. Having Chocolate Bayou run next to his family’s home, Dale “cut his teeth” fishing the waters of Chocolate Bayou as well as Lavaca and Matagorda Bays. He spent many hours fishing and learning the ropes of both inshore and offshore fishing. Dale’s love of fishing and hunting have brought him many years of pleasure, which he hopes to share with his clients.

Dale started his farming operation in 1981. As a lifelong farmer, Dale is all too familiar with the wild hog population in Calhoun County! He’s always enjoyed taking friends hog hunting on the family farm.

After a lifetime of farming, in 2014 Dale decided to chart a new course in life. He parked his tractor, earned a Captains license and became Captain Dale. He decided he’d get more enjoyment out of life by making a living fishing rather than farming. With the encouragement of his friend Captain Marvin Strakos, Dale has gained a wealth of experience & knowledge from Marvin’s 40+ years as a fishing guide.

Dale’s goal as a hunting/fishing guide is to see to it that his clients have a great time when they book a trip, whether it be hunting or fishing.
